Retirements from Office

rwbros patel and jefferiesAfter many years distinguished service, RW Bro. Lt. Frank Morris Jefferies, RN. Rtd, GCSM (picture, right) and RW Bro. Dr Ghanshyam M. Patel, PGCh, GCSM (picture, left) have informed the Grand Master of their wish to retire from office coincident with the Annual Assembly on 25th October 2014.

 

RW Bro. Lt. Frank Morris Jefferies, RN. Rtd, GCSM joined the Order on 25/11/2006 at the consecration of the Court of St. Elli No. 12 in the Province of Magonsaetan, where he still holds membership. At the formation of the Province of Australia North RW Bro. Frank became the primus Provincial Grand Master.


In November 2007 the Provinces of Australia North and South came into being with Courts being formed in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide in that month. RW Bro. Frank was instrumental in the formation of Sydney Court No. 28, St David Court No. 29 and St John Court No. 32 where he still holds membership.


RW Bro. Frank was the obvious candidate to become the primus Assistant Grand Master in Charge of Australia upon the consolidation of the two Provinces on 07/11/2009. RW Bro. Frank achieved the rank of Grand Cross of the Scarlet Mantle in 2009.


The Grand Master, on behalf of the Order, wishes to thank RW Bro. Frank for his amazing contribution to the early formation of the Masonic Order of Athelstan in Australia and wishes him a very happy retirement from high office. In characteristic style, the young octogenarian has assured the Grand Master that he will continue to support and promote our Order in Australia and beyond which is typical of such a man and Mason of the highest calibre.

 

RWBro Frank is to be succeeded as Assistant Grand Master in Charge of Australia by RWBro Arthur Macken.

 


RW Bro. Dr Ghanshyam M. Patel, PGCh, GCSM joined the Order on 29th March 2006 as a founder of High Cross Court No.5 in the Province of Mercia where he still holds membership and served as Master in 2011. In 2011, RW Bro. Ghanshyam became the primus Grand Chancellor for India and enjoyed a well-deserved award of Grand Cross of the Scarlet Mantle.


During his 3 years in high office RW Bro. Ghanshyam has installed the Provincial Grand Masters of both Northern and Southern India and has guided the Indian Provinces to the consecration of five new Courts.


On behalf of the Order, the Grand Master wishes to thank RW Bro. Ghanshyam for his exceptional hard work and industry in India and wishes him a very happy retirement from high office. RWBro Ganshyam is to be succeeded as Assistant Grand Master in Charge of India by RWBro Madhavan Chellappa.
