The first meeting of the new online Lindsey Discussion Group took place over Zoom on Friday 28 February. This group followed in the example of the highly successful online discussion group meetings being held in the Province of Wessex.
Designed to be an informal forum for discussion about topics of relevance to the Order and freemasonry in general, the inaugural topic was "The York Assembly of 926: Fact or Fiction". 35 members of the Province, including the Provincial Grand Master RWBro Tony Burke and Deputy PGM VWBro Paul Clarke, as well as supporters from elsewhere in the Order, gathered online to discuss the legend of the Assembly of masons in York in 926. The meeting was also honoured with the presence of the MW Grand Master, who offered his perspective on the topic.
The meeting began by RW&EmBro Chris Ansell giving a short introduction to the topic, followed by a lively general discussion generating much participation and positive feedback.
Meetings of the Lindsey group are to occur approximately every 4-6 weeks and are open to all members of the Province of Lindsey; other members of the Order are also welcome. Those seeking to attend are asked to subscribe to the group mailing list for regular notifications and joining instructions.
