MAIL AND WEBSITE ACCESS PROBLEMS

We have had a few reports recently from mail users locked out of their Athelstan mail and the website.

Be aware that our mail systems and the website run on the same web IP address and this symptom is typical of being blacklisted by the server firewall. The most common reason for this is that one or more of the user's devices that have been configured to access their Athelstan mail is incorrectly set up, and the server interprets that device's failing attempts to log in as nefarious and blocks the user's IP address from all server access.

Contact us at once if this happens to you so we can take action. Entering correct settings will not, of itself, fix the issue.

Our ISP has been processing server migrations today, and this may affect email and website access for MOA domains. We hope to have an update tomorrow about the completion of this work.

Some users have reported that mail sent from a 'corporate' Athelstan address has been bouncing at specific receiving domains. Please forward all such bounces to tech support at the address above so that we may log them and initiate remedial action.

We are aware of some members receiving spam email purporting to come from senior or other members of the Order. If you receive one of these mails DO NOT OPEN ANY LINKS IN THE MESSAGE and forward it to techsupport, mail address above.

Our providers are investigating intermittent issues relating to logging in to webmail and connecting to our mailservers.

Our new email provider is reporting unspecified system issues today, which may affect access. If you are affected, you are advised to report it to us (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and to attempt to log in to your account with webmail as a temporary workround.

Migration of our email systems has been completed successfully. All account holders under the domains moa.org.uk, moa-lindsey.org.uk and moa-northumbria.org.uk should now use modified server settings to access their accounts. No other accounts are affected.
