  • Amounderness Court No 111 (Province of Northumbria)  to meet at The Masonic Hall, 14 Market Place, Poulton-le-Fylde FY6 7AS. Proposed Consecration date is Saturday 24th October 2015, pending approval by the Grand Master.

 

  • Under statute 25 of the Order, Veritas Court No 112 (Province of the United States of America) to meet at Fellowship Hall, 1114 Oxmead Road, Burlington, New Jersey 08016, USA. Proposed Consecration date is Saturday 31st October 2015, pending approval by the Grand Master.

Tinan71 May2015 01The Provincial Grand Master of Northumbria, R.W.Bro. David Railson, chose Friday 1st May 2015 as his official Provincial visit to the Court of Tinan No. 71.

 

Upon opening the Court, and confirming the Minutes of the previous meeting, the Provincial Grand Master, DProvGM Edward Casey, KSM, PGBannerB., and the Officers of the Provincial Grand Court were welcomed to the meeting.

 

The PGM presented a Grand Court Certificate to Bro. Michael Graham, pointing out the wealth of Masonic symbolism contained within the design of the Certificate.

 

The business of the Court was then conducted, including the declaration of Bro. Alan Radford as the Master Elect for the forthcoming year.

 

The dispensation for the instruction of four Candidates was read, and the said Candidates Instructed into the Masonic Order of Athelstan. The PGM warmly welcomed them into the Order, wishing them every success as the newest members of the Court of Tinan No. 71.

 

Following as excellent meeting, the Court was duly closed, and the Brethren retired to the Festive Board for a succulent meal of Soup, Steak Pie, Dessert and Cheese Board.

Beoferlic 59 270415On Monday 27th April 2015, the members of the Court of Beoferlic No. 59 at Beverley (Province of Lindsey) were hosts to the Grand Master, M.W.Bro. Paul Weldon Johnston PGHCh, GCSM, who was accompanied by a deputation of Grand Officers, including the Assistant Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Dr. Christopher Wilson Guy Ansell, GCh, GCSM.

 

The Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro Raymond Norman Dinning, GCSM, was on this occasion represented by the DProvGM, V.W.Bro. William Henry Carlyon, KSM, accompanied by several Officers of the Province.

 

The meeting was opened promptly, and the Grand Master and other Distinguished Brethren were welcomed into the Court. A dispensation to instruct 3 candidates had been granted, and following it’s reading, the candidates were duly instructed.

 

Bro. Ling Faang Yu was presented as Master Elect for the forthcoming year.

 

The Grand Master presented Grand Court Certificates to five recently instructed members, explaining the various elements of the certificate. The Grand Master welcomed the five recipients of the certificates, plus the three Brethren instructed that evening, to the ‘family’ of Athelstan, and wished them all a long and happy association with the Order.

 

The Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Leslie Roy Jones then surprised the Grand Master by presenting him with a gift of a framed, wall hanging print of the Minster, and a card signed by all of the members of the Court. The Grand Master was delighted with the gift, and expressed his gratitude, assuring all involved that it would take pride of place in his office, and would be a permanent reminder of the extremely friendly welcome he always receives at The Court of Beoferlic No. 59.

 

A cheque for £250.00 as a donation to the Cyningstun 10-90 fund was also presented. The Grand Master also expressed his delight at this donation, and further explained the objectives of the appeal, and giving further information of the proceedings for the weekend of the 6th and 7th of November at Kingston-on Thames.

 

Before retiring, the Grand Master complimented the members of the Court on the high standard of the ritual performed at the meeting, commenting on his appreciation of the hard work which had been undertaken by the W.M., Officers and members of the Court who had participated in the proceedings.

 

A delicious meal of soup, Chicken and seasonable vegetables, followed by a wonderfully varied cheese board completed a very enjoyable evening.

EWApril2015 01The 16th Regular Meeting of The Court of the East and West No. 67 took place at Gateshead on Friday 17th April 2015.

 

The Court elected Bro. Martin Nicholson as Master for the forthcoming year, and notice was given of intention to propose a donation from Court funds in support of the Cyningstun 10-90 event.

 

Following the instruction of three new members, R.W. and Em. Bro. Canon Ron Black, EmGPrior, expertly presented a recently joined member with his Grand Court Certificate. The Court was then closed and another enjoyable meeting was brought to a conclusion, followed by an excellent dinner.

athelstaninsigniaThe Consecration of Regius Cordis Court No 110 (Province of the United States of America) will take place on 25 July 2015  at the Fort Wayne Masonic Temple, 216 East Washington Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46802 USA under the direction of the Assistant Grand Master in Charge of the USA, RWBro D Allan Surratt.  

 

The Court will be the tenth Court in the Province.

King Constantine March 2015The Court of King Constantine No. 70 in the Province of Northumbria held their Installation meeting at their usual assembly venue of The Lawson Masonic Hall, Brampton, Cumbria, on Saturday 21st March 2015.

 

The Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro. Thomas William David Railson was represented on this occasion by the Provincial Grand Secretary, WBro. Alan Reece, PJGD.

 

The incoming Master, Bro. Walter Simpson expressed his great pride and pleasure at being installed as Worshipful Master. The ceremony progressed very smoothly using the new ritual, to the great delight of all involved.

 

WBro. Simpson then presented a very interesting talk entitled ‘Creating Interest’, which was written by RWBro. Edward L. Bennett, Grand Sec. of the GL of Washington. This and other presentations/talks are available to download from the member’s area of the Masonic Order of Athelstan website. Members whom wish to visit the website are reminded that they will need their unique number from their Grand Court Certificate in order to register for access to the members area.

 

A new applicant was successfully balloted for, followed by the presentation of a Grand Court Certificate by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, WBro. Edward Casey, KSM, PGBannerB.

 

Members and visitors then retired to the dining room for an excellent meal of chicken soup, steak pie with veg., and dessert.

A special assembly of the Provincial Grand Court of Australia was held at Willoughby, Sydney on Saturday 7 March 2015, which saw the Grand Master MWBro Paul Johnston install RWBro Arthur Macken as Assistant Grand Master in Charge of Australia, and the Assistant Grand Master RWBro Chris Ansell install RWBro Richard Elkington as Provincial Grand Master for Australia. The new Provincial Grand Master then installed WBro Herbie Mailey as his deputy and WBros Donald Dezentje and Michael Burrell as Assistant Provincial Grand Masters.

 

The meeting was honoured also by the presence of RExComp Warren Dews, 2nd Grand Principal of USGC of NSW and ACT and the Grand Master of the UGL of NSW and ACT, MWBro Derek Robson, who were themselves escorted by many distinguished visitors from USCG and UGL of NSW and ACT.

 

The Grand Master was accompanied on this visit to Australia by the Assistant Grand Master RWBro Chris Ansell, the Provincial Grand Master for East Anglia, RWBro Brian Coshall. the Grand Secretary VWBro Michael Eckley, the Grand Registrar VWBro Tony Burke (who at the 11th hour was called upon to act as Grand Marshal - which he undertook with great distinction), and the Deputy Grand Secretary VWBro Nick Le Grys.

 

Aldred Feb2015The Court of Aldred No. 15 met on Thursday 26th February 2015, this being the occasion of its annual Installation.

 

Brother Simon Robinson was installed into the Masters chair, and expressed his delight at being the recipient of the confidence of the members of the Court, and his feeling of honour at being made Master.

WBro. Robinson then appointed and invested his Officers for the ensuing year.

 

The outgoing Master, WBro. Michael Jacques thanked his officers for their hard work and commitment, and for making his year as Master such a wonderful experience.

 

WBro. Thomas Urwin, KSM, ProGSec., then presented a talk, researched and produced by VWBro. Fred Lomax, Grand Lecturer, entitled ‘Masonic Imposters’.

 

The Grand Master, MWBro. Paul Weldon Johnston, PGHCh, GCSM, then presented two Grand Lodge Certificates to recently joined members of the Court.

 

Members and visitors then retired to the dining room for an excellent meal, plus the customary glass of Port from the Masters bottle.

 

WBro. Robinson sends his grateful thanks to all visitors who attended his Installation, some travelling considerable distances to be present.
