The new Provincial Grand Master then installed WBro Herbie Mailey as his deputy and WBros Donald Dezentje and Michael Burrell as Assistant Provincial Grand Masters.

Brother Simon Robinson was installed into the Masters chair, and expressed his delight at being the recipient of the confidence of the members of the Court, and his feeling of honour at being made Master.

WBro. Robinson then appointed and invested his Officers for the ensuing year.

The outgoing Master, WBro. Michael Jacques thanked his officers for their hard work and commitment, and for making his year as Master such a wonderful experience.

WBro. Thomas Urwin, KSM, ProGSec., then presented a talk, researched and produced by VWBro. Fred Lomax, Grand Lecturer, entitled ‘Masonic Imposters’.

The Grand Master, MWBro. Paul Weldon Johnston, PGHCh, GCSM, then presented two Grand Lodge Certificates to recently joined members of the Court.

The Court was opened promptly at 6.30 p.m., and following the normal opening proceedings, Brethren who were not present at the Installation were installed into their offices.

EW Jan2015 01The 15th Regular Meeting of The Court of the East and West No. 67 took place at the Court’s new home at Gateshead on Monday 26th January 2015.

The Court was very well attended by members and visitors, but because of business commitments by the candidates (father and son, and both farmers) they were unable to attend.

However, as the new ritual books had been delivered that day, and the Grand Marshal, VWBro. John Watts, KSM was present, it proved an ideal opportunity to have a ‘practice run’ with the new ritual, which was generally agreed to be a welcome improvement!

Three Grand Lodge Certificates were then presented and explained by VWBro. Bill Carlyon KSM, DepProvGM.

Following the closure of the Court, the Brethren retired to The Orchid Chinese Restaurant on the Quayside at Newcastle for an excellent meal.
